Engineering Manager

Job Overview

Amplify Surgical has an immediate opening for an Engineering Manager. This highly visible position, reporting directly to the VP. Of Operations, is responsible for development, design of medical device instruments and implants.  In addition, this position will be assigned quality and engineering development goals to advance the company’s high quality spinal solutions utilizing a cutting-edge implant and instrument technology.

The Engineering Manager will be responsible for executing plans supporting R&D projects. The position requires strong mechanical design skills from brainstorming, design, supporting prototyping, supporting DFM, supporting regulatory, and supporting launch of product. The position also requires medical device design skills using Solidworks design software and understanding of medical device design controls.  This position will require management of associate engineers to fulfill the departmental goals.

Responsibilities

  • Design and development activities to release new and maintain current product lines.
  • Management of associate and engineering interns.
  • Support marketing, quality and regulatory departments as needed.

Minimum Qualifications, Skills And Abilities

  • B.S. in Engineering, mechanical or biomechanical.
  • Requires a minimum of 5 years of related work experience (prefer spine)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Experience with an orthopedic medical device company or spine experience a plus
  • Ability to multi-task and thrive in a start-up environment
  • 3 year experience with Solidworks design software
